316 LVM | ASTM F 138 Heat Treatment Reducing atmospheres such as Hydrogen or split Ammonia are recommended for heat treatment. The appropriate temperatures range from 1000°C to 1150 °C. The duration depends on the equipment, the type of process and the experience with the material.

On the outer diameter profilometry is used to determine the roughness values. The surface quality of the inner surface depends on the wall thickness/outer diameter ratio. With smaller diameter tubing low roughness values of the inner tubing surface are more difficult to achieve. Generally the surface quality of the tubes is determined by the inner tooling and the processing sequence. Vascotube® employees apply their utmost diligence to reach even better roughness values of 0,4 µm.
